5.0 out of 5 stars Funny & Original, 13 Dec 2001
By A Customer
I first came to read this book on the recommendation of an Amazon review. I found it to be totally hilarious, with a very original plot. The Glaswegian accents only served to make the dialogue even funnier and the banter between characters is unbeatable. I never really gave much thought to barbers (being a woman!), but this has definitely changed my way of thinking!

5.0 out of 5 stars A breath-holding, page turning, hilarious read., 22 Aug 2001
By duncan.williams1@talk21.com (Falkirk, Scotland.) - See all my reviews
When I started to read this book I knew there was going to be a murder but couldn't believe that Barney was capable of such a thing, which he clearly isn't. However the murder(s) happen and I lost valuable hours of sleep unable to stop reading this hilarious tale. It hasn't made me scared to go to the barbers but it has made me very wary of my work colleagues.

5.0 out of 5 stars A cut above the rest, 16 Jul 2001
Having only just discovered this masterpiece by Douglas Lindsay I'm already well into the second. This is pure genius - the superb characters, the Glasweigan banter and the throwaway lines make it one of the best books I've read in years. It's so well written that you cannot second guess what's coming next. Now where can I get a Kevin Keegan '74?!?!
