This is a lovely and lovingly compiled book about a long-overlooked corner of England. Sandwiched as it is between the Big Boys of the Dales and the Lake District, it tends to be the place the people drive through to get somewhere else. A pity ... because it's a startlingly beautiful part of England.

The photographs are a pleasing mixture of straight views and more "arty" shots ... I could have done with a few more words, because those that there are are well worth reading ... but this is an excellent buy and sensibly priced. It's also sensibly sized ... suitable for stuffing in a map pocket or a backpack, with a weather-resistant cover to boot.

Highly recommended.

burnley...does not normally conjure up an image of landscaped beauty. unless you live there and that is the point of the book.
for those of us not living in burnley it does demonstrate the wealth of countryside in such a small area of the world.
Are the images in the book the most spectacular? no. Are they pictures of passion and a love of the land yes!!! if you want to see the best landscape in the UK have a browse.
great book!!
