Synopsis
Despite being one of the biggest clubs in world football, City failed for years to achieve their potential - a brief visit to the Premiership in 2000/1 ended in despair and relegation. But a new wave of confidence is surging through the club, with fans believing they are at last on the verge of an exciting new era. The reason? One man. Kevin Keegan. THE MANCHESTER MESSIAH took over at Maine Road in May of 2001 with City relegated from the Premiership and the club in disarray. In less than a year he watched his team storm to the Division One title, scoring an incredible 108 league goals in the process. People call it 'The Keegan Factor': a magical ability that the former England, Newcastle and Fulham manager has to turn ailing clubs around and not only make them successes, but to get them playing the most exciting football anywhere. But what exactly is this 'Keegan Factor'? What are the secrets behind his success? Why do the fans adore him so? And why did things go so badly wrong with England? Can he make good on his promise to turn Man City into one of Europe's elite within five years? Will City ever topple Man United as the city's biggest club? Or is this yet another false dawn for the club's legion of loyal fans? Lifelong City fan and sports journalist Howard Johnson joins City legend Paul Lake to examine every angle of Keegan's reign and deliver the definitive investigation of what makes him tick. Johnson brings a seasoned sports journalist's eye to matters while Lake gives an in-depth insider's view of affairs at the club. Alongside, celebrity fans including M People pop star Mike Pickering, England rugby international Will Greenwood, Radio Five Live presenter Susan Bookbinder and TV presenter John Stapleton, share their own thoughts on Keegan and City

I recommend this to all City fans young and old. I read it every night before bedtime, because it fuels my dreams.

This fantastic book heralds a new era for the only team in Manchester. Buy your copy now so you can read it at the airport before we fly to the UEFA Cup Final.

Quite simply, I love it, I really really love it.
