For everybody in the industry, whether professional or upcoming (the more polite term which I use for 'wannabe' - and let's face it, most of us are), contacts are essential. Even though having the right contacts cannot guarantee you that big break, it sure helps. Actors and presenters are always in need of agents, photographers, production companies, showreel editors; basically, everything. As contacts are so important, one cannot wish for more when a book such as this is available, and not very pricey either. It is, in all honesty, an additional factor of success.'Contacts' is simply what the cover says; a whole directory of industry contacts compiled into one extremely helpful book, which every actor should keep handy. Published every October by the well-established and famous Spotlight, each edition consists of every contact needed to actually get somewhere. Casting directors, casting suites, drama schools, theatres, agents of all kinds, photographers and personal managers are to name but a few categories of the much needed people and companies listed in this book. It also includes contact details of TV channels and routes to studios. As a newly-established casting agent and wannabe news presenter myself, I must say that I cannot stress theimportance of Spotlight Contacts. Whether you are a professional actor looking for a new headshot, an extra looking for work with an agency, or a presenter wanting training, this is for you. In fact, if you are in dire need of anything Industry-related then your answer lies within this book. I have found Contacts a lifesaver on numerous occasions, therefore whether you are professional or upcoming, you MUST purchase this guide. I am forever being asked, 'I want to be an actor/presenter but I do not know where to begin.' In all honesty, you cannot ask for anything more, as it is all compiled in this handy directory. Seriosuly. Before I cease the praise, I must say that Spotlight Contacts is mainly for actors (both stage and screen) and presenters, as well as dancers. If you are looking for music contacts, then I have been told that The Knowledge is best. Alternatively, The Gurdian Media Guide is renowned for all media-related contacts.
