5.0 out of 5 stars Most Enjoyable!, 15 April 2005
By A Customer
This excellent work describes Bernard Hepworth's service in the Royal Navy from 1925 to 1947. I would note that a large portion of the book involves Hepworth's time onboard the aircraft carrier, HMS Ark Royal. Hepworth was on HMS Ark Royal from the moment WWII broke out through her sinking in November of 1941, logging over 200,000 miles on the ship. There is also quite a bit about a Royal Navy minesweeper, HMS Aries. It has been some time since I enjoyed a book as much as I did this work and it is a fascinating read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amusing and witty autobiography, 22 April 2000
By A Customer
This is a very amusing and witty autobiography written mainly about Naval life in and around the Second World War. I found it a very easy read, but one that brought a lump to my throat on several occasions. It ought to be compulsory reading for all students of Naval history. I can't wait for the movie.
