Lebbon takes some tried (or tired?) and tested horror elements - a set of desperate survivors in isolation menaced by an unknown terror- and, well that's about it. The one slightly original element is the setting, stranded in the snow blown wilderness, the surroundings are described as being bleached out. The ending is predictable. But still fairly eerie. In the as a reader I've been taken here before with far more satisfying results. No way near as good as his other stuff.

Lebbon delivers another fine creepy tale with this short story, following the fate of a group of people trapped in a Cornish cottage by the weather.
