Product Description

Newcastle Evening Chronicle, 15th December 1999
MUST BUY FOR EVERY CAT LOVER It has been called the surprise success story of the season - and it's not surprising for, once you've entered the lives of these two fickle felines, you're hooked, especially if you have ever owned a cat yourself. All profits go to the pDSA, though some really should go towards mental health care for those who have been driven to screaming frustration by a cat. The little book is a three-week diary of two brother Siamese cats which come north to Birtley from their home in Southern England. They share their home with Simon and his partner, or at least tolerate their presence, and their condescending account of life with mere human beings, and their unaccountable ways, is a sheer delight. No wonder they've had to repring it already.

Book Description
Written in diary form, by two Siamese cats, "Spock and Dracs, The Wilderness Weeks" tells of a 3 week stay with Ann, when Simon, with whom they normally live was on holiday. Considered, by the two feline authors, to be a literary masterpiece, they are baffled at how it frequently reduces human readers to helpless laughter. How they settle in and mercilessly manipulate Ann will ring a bell with everyone who has ever owned a cat, Siamese or otherwise.

Selfless to the last, the Siamese authors are giving all their profits to the Peoples Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA). So are the translator/editor and illustrator, even though they're only human.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful book., 10 Feb 2002

Dear Spock and Dracs

We got your book for Christmas and enjoyed it very much. We read it in the glow from the Christmas tree. We always wanted a copy but our lady was typically slow in doing anything about it.

Our lady has some of the same tricks as your lady Ann's. Your book is an encouragement and an inspiration, and we feel better knowing we're not the only ones facing these problems. Thank you very much, Spock and Dracs - and long may your writings continue.

Yours sincerely

Fredi Firebeetle (Siamese cat)
