5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant business ideas from a retail star, 20 Nov 2001
By L. E. Pank - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I'm gobsmacked that no one has spoken up for Julian Richer already! His book is so direct and easy to follow, what he says makes such good sense and the proof is his friendly little shops where the staff actually help you to find hi fi that you want to buy. It's just the complete opposite of the big names (I don't have to name them) where you are terrified to go in and be ignored or made a fool of. The same difference is apparent in the book. The author is not a high-flown theoretical guru but a good businessman who has made the effort to communicate in a genuinely helpful and straightforward way how he's got to the top. I've had this book 18 months and it's well-thumbed. It's taught me a lot about sales and marketing, and amazingly, that it can be fun and interesting.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, 27 Jan 2007
By john3626 (London) - See all my reviews
One of the best business books I've read. I even found myself going in to a Richer Sounds store and quizzing the manager about some of the things mentioned in the book, it seems that it's all true. Buy it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Make someone's year - buy this book for them...., 25 April 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: THE RICHER WAY. (Paperback)
Think you know what makes a business/company/department run well? Sure you do - it's the people. Seems pretty obvious then that the way you treat these individuals will govern how well things run. So how should you treat them? How should you recruit, train, motivate and develop them? Julian Richer has several ideas, and most importantly has practised them in his own successful business. Buy this book, read it and then realise what a superb present it will make for so many friends and colleagues. Then order several from amazon.co.uk, save and smile.
