4.0 out of 5 stars DCI Tallyforth and DS 'George' Elliott meet again, 10 Jul 2000
By patdarcy@clara.co.uk (Wiltshire, England) - See all my reviews
Tallyforth and Elliott meet again in the Western Isles of Scotland where the investigation of Cassie Dillon's murder takes place. The scenery of the Hebrides is splendidly evoked and the murder eventually solved. Not so the resolution of the relationship between the two police officers. I have a strong impression that there is unfinished business here, waiting to be explored at some later date. I look forward to their next encounter.

The case on which Tallyforth and Elliott work together in 'Bird on the Wing' eventually reaches a successful conclusion - which is more than can be said to a satisfatory resolution of their relationship! There is the strong implication at the inconclusive conclusion that there is unfinished business here, waiting to be explored aAT SOME LATER DATE. I LOOK FORWARD TO THEIR NEXT ENCOUNTER.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exciting read from a talented newcomer., 6 Mar 2000
By A Customer
Pacy story of a police detective, supposedly holidaying on Skye.Murder and intrigue on the island threaten to submerge our hero,Inspector Tallyforth.Local incompetence and the need to place himself above suspicion, ensures the holiday becomes a tense, edge of the seat experience.

A first class read from a new light in the detective thriller literary firmament.
