A facinating and thoroughly researched book. Excellent information the on boat lift in relation to British waterways and our industrial heritage. Many photographs and diagrams make the book very good value.

This is probably the most comprehensive book about the Anderton Boat Lift in existence. It is for the seriously interested. Virtually every part of the lift is described with a complete history of modification and adaption. The pictures in this book are many and varied, showing the people involved in building the structure, the users of the lift and unbelievable historical detail. I cannot recommend this book too highly, for a long and serious read or just a dip into now and then
