4.0 out of 5 stars Not foolproof but still essential., 4 Nov 2004

(REAL NAME)
The new edition of the Rare Record Price Guide 2006 follows on from previous editions in being the most comprehensive guide to values of recorded popular music available today. The breadth of the new edition is greater than previously, dipping it's toes into genres such as UK hip-hop, but the claim that it included every record or CD of great value should be taken with caution.

It is still predominantly rock orientated with shortcomings in areas such as old school dance/rave, lounge/easy, AOR rock and 80's pop for example. Prices of these items being very conservative or not listed at all. The canny shopper should also check internet listings, ebay/eil etc for a guide to the current market.

Despite these shortcomings anyone attending a boot sale, record fair or just browsing the net would be wise to have a copy close to hand. There's nothing else which comes close.

4.0 out of 5 stars record collector Rare record guide 2006, 9 Nov 2004
By jon ashford-smith (Grimsby, north east lincs United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
A good revision of the popular guide for vinyl collectors, however if u have the 2004 version, this is not worth buying, as the prices have altered little.
