4.0 out of 5 stars Oh why did I throw that out?!, 16 Jan 2002
From the moment you see Rupert Bear running towards you on the front cover you are excited with anticipation.
The new and revised edition is informative and fascinating. From Adams to Yonge the authors of countless adventures for children are listed. Every page you open not only reminds you of your childhood but also the realisation of what you did to those books. The anguish as you now learn that that the Beano you wrote all over is now worth £45. The distress as you remember the old book your granny gave you by someone called Rackham and you threw out years ago,is worth £1000.
The only drawback for me was the lack of information of how to find out more about a specific author or genre. Having sparked your interest it left you no where to go.
I will ensure in future however that the children's books and their crayons are kept well apart.

3.0 out of 5 stars Best Before November 2002, 24 Sep 2003
By A. Dines "kidz-books" (Ireland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This is a great book if you want to know what books a particular author or illustrator has written, and very basic details about first editions. However, since it has not been revised since November 2001 it is now rather out of date in terms of the values given and therefore this particular information is no longer very useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Invaluable Reference, 10 Jan 2009

Have used this book a great deal. Nothing else has this detailed coverage. Prices may have changed but this book is still very handy.
