Product Description

Synopsis
A set of three official guide maps cover 350 miles of the Trans Pennine Trail (TPT), the country's first purpose built, national multi-user route. It runs coast to coast between the ports of Liverpool and Hull and the seaside resorts of Southport and Hornsea, crossing the Peak District National Park. Towns and cities across the North of England are connected including Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Chesterfield and York. Walkers and cyclists can use the whole Trail with horse riders too on many sections. Easy gradients and surfaced paths make much of the Trail suitable for people using wheelchairs or pushchairs. Lots of the TPT is traffic free providing a great facility for families. The Trail forms the English section of European Long Distance Footpath Number 8 (E8), a walking route from the west of Ireland right across Europe to reach Istanbul when E8 is eventually complete. The TPT also links into the National Cycle Network. Trans Pennine Trail Irish Sea - Pennines (Map 1 - West) This first map shows the walkers', cyclists' and horse riders' routes on the western section of the TPT from the seaside town of Southport right through to the Peak District National Park.
