5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant book for children of all ages, 6 Jul 2003
By Digital Disaster (Lincoln, England) - See all my reviews
This is a brilliant book written by a criminally under-recognised author and is much more than a children's book. Before I say anything about the actual story I really need to say how well made the book is about 150 A5 pages and is a very well bound paperback, much tougher than most books these days. Also the artwork is superb, Kate Mirick really did a good job with the pictures (there are nearly 100 - 12 colour and 80 black & white).

Obviously none of this matters if the story is no good but luckily it is. The author describes the exotic settings (from a desert to the moon) brilliantly and the characters seem to leap from the pages. The story line is bizarre and hilarious but easy to follow and the characters exploits are described so vividly you'll think your're really there.

Although this book is aimed at younger children many teenagers enjoy reading it and it deserves a place on everyone's bookshelf. (...)
