This is an appreciation of the life of John Thaw, star of "Inspector Morse", "Kavanagh QC" and "The Sweeney". Each chapter is written by a different individual, beginning with Thaw's early life and ending with the cause of his death.


From the Publisher

There has been a certain amount of negative publicity surrounding the publication of this book and the methods employed to do so. Whilst I acknowledge these problems, this should not distract the reader from the reason why this book was published in the first place - to remember John Thaw as one of the best TV actors of our time. However, the undertakings I have given in respect of the debts to this business, still stand, and all will be resolved hopefully, in the course of the early part of 2006.

Absolutely the best book currently out on John. Not dry or boring, this book helps you feel like you've gotten to know the man himself once you've finished. Very respectful, well-researched and well-written. I've read it through twice (so far) and each time I've learned new insights about the man. Highly recommended. Bravo to all the writers concerned on a wonderful job!

This book is definitely one of the best on the greatly-missed John Thaw. It is so well researched and well written! Each chapter takes on a different facet of the man's life and career, and really helps both new and old fans to better appreciate his talent! Each of the writers brings a new light to things such as "Sweeney", "Morse" etc. It's a MUST HAVE book!

A true labor of love put together by various devoted John Thaw fans (with writing talent) for all John Thaw fans who feel the void of this man's departure from both life and the acting world.

Easy reading, and many insights into this beloved man's character and talents, which I already thought I knew so much about, being a deeply devoted fan. I also enjoyed the character analyses of many of his roles, often broken down to specific episodes that he played.

I am sadly reaching my last chapter and wish there were ten more to devour. Like his life, this too ends much to quickly as far as I'm concerned; but I must say I've enjoyed every word along the way to its final page.

Truly a MUST for those of you who have come to recognize and appreciate Britain's most tremendous "talent." Also a great guide for the novice fan. As a result, I'm buying extra copies for friends just new to his work.
