We bought the guide hoping for some great ideas for us to spend time with our 8 month old daughter in places that are suitable for children but don't involve the adults eating off bright plastic plates and being surrounded by screaming children. However, we live in a small out of the way town and the authors had decided not to include our town - London ! Their reasons ? "...London is so busy that it is not to every family's taste; on the other hand, if you are having a holiday or a day out in London and need a family restaurant or mother & baby facilities, the easiest option is the nearest largest department store." So, looks like we can either heed the authors advice & spend the next 18 years eating in the charming department stores of our capital city or, alternatively, we could use the guide to prop up the wonky leg of our dining table & go out & find those seemingly elusive family friendly establishments ourselves.

My advice - save your money & spend it on getting out there & finding these places yourself

I have a 1 year old daughter and we miss going away for weekends for a bit of pampering. This guide list hotels that have everything - good food plus child facilities. It also lists good child friendly places to go out to eat.
