'Great Cakes Without Eggs' contains over 200 recipes for cakes without eggs. About one third of the recipes are vegan, the remainder are lacto-vegetarian. There is a broad selection of recipes:

Measures are given in Metric, British Imperial and US Cups sizes. Oven temperatures are in Centigrade, Fahrenheit and Gas Mark. Tin sizes are in inches and centimetres.

Each chapter is headed with various anecdotes connected with the ingredients and the recipes.

There is a comprehensive appendix covering all ingredients in the book, and their international names and equivalents.
