5.0 out of 5 stars All you'll ever need to fight back and win, 9 Aug 2001
At last, an author who has the intelligence to realise that not everyone who needs to defend themselves is 7ft tall - indeed, it is probably because of this fact they need to defend themselves in the first place. Mr O'Hagan describes excellent no-holds barred techniques that DO, not CAN work. Throughout the book I actually found myself for the first time wincing out loud like a moron at the brutal effectiveness of the techniques. Mr O'Hagan also manages to bolster the small man's confidence 100-fold with words alone. Reading this book gives a tremendous sense of well-being, leaving you feeling ready to tackle the world and win afterwards. This is simply one of the best self-protection manuals ever written. Buy it now and I guarantee you will thank me for recommending it. Seeing as you're already on Amazon buy "Real Self Defence" by Geoff Thompson, and "Pre-emptive Strikes For Winning Fights" by Jamie O'Keefe while yo're at it. You will not be disappointed, and it will save you're life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! One of the best self defence guides out, 13 Feb 2000

(REAL NAME)
The print quality of this book looks a little amateurish but having said that that, the book is full of really good, practical advice and if you are interested in the world of self defence it is a definite must have. The information is based around adapting the martial arts to the street, utilising kicking, punching, locks, takedowns & chokes. 180-odd pages of good solid advice including photos of the applications and breakdown of the techniques. Not a book to be without!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good advice and strategy for streetfights..., 29 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Kevin knows what he's talking about and shows the reader easy, effective and quite brutal techniques and metods to use agaist the big guy. But a reader that has no previous martial arts training will have a hard time understanding how to perform the tecniques used in the book! I.e how to stand, kick punch ect. More detailed explanations/picture series of the tecniques/stands/footwork used are required.
