4.0 out of 5 stars An eye-opening tour of Erith, 12 Feb 2003
The book, which to many may not first be anything out of the ordinary, does indeed warrant a further look. Many people in South London only know Erith as a place which is badly pronounced by the announcer at London Bridge train station. This book brings alive the quirks and eccentricities that may not be apparent at first.

The book acts both as a map and guide and so packed with detail, it makes Erith similar in style to any place you may visit on one of the London Walks around the centre of town.

The style of the book is one of being their to guide not to tell you or simply inform you of what to look at which is the trouble with many guide books today - with this book it's as if the author is with you on your trip.

Another good point is that the walks and tours and both separate yet you can join them up together, perfect for a summer's day or a short evening walk to stretch the legs.

In short, this book brings alive an area that has all too easily fallen off the map!
