I purchased this book many years ago when I inherited a seven year old Bernese dog and wanted to learn more about this wonderful breed! She gives a very detailed account of the history of the breed and its introduction into Britain, the United States and Canada. It is also packed full of information on how to choose and raise a puppy, general management, breeding and whelping, judging, ailments and diseases. Beautifully written and illustrated, this book, written by a breeder of Bernese for more than thirty years has to be the most comprehensive book about the Bernese Mountain Dog! I fell in love with this breed and am now owned by three wonderful BMD's. Diana Cochrane's book is my Bernese Bible!

the bernese bible! fantastic book! one of the two best books written on the bernese (the other is malcolm willis' the bernese mountain dog today)
This book provides all the information you need on the bernese in brilliant detail and in a way that is easy to understand.
there are also beautiful photos throughout the book.
