5.0 out of 5 stars An Essential Purchase For Sylvian Fans, 19 Jun 2001
By A Customer
Trophies II contains David Sylvian's lyrics between 1989 and 1999 listed in chronological order. It is split into five parts and also includes some of David's poetry. Again David has worked with Yuka Fujii and Ingrid Chavez for Art Direction and Portraiture respectively. Vaughan Oliver is again responsible for the design. But there are quite a few songs that were left out from the collection - for whatever reasons. The missing songs are: Cloud #9, Darshan (the road to graceland), Earthbound, Endgame, Under Ingrid's wheels, Come morning, Maya, Ti ho aspettato. And there are some mistakes in the lyrics. Lines like "But they've taken to their wings" in Jean the Birdman instead of "He's taken to his wings", or the missing passages in Heartbeat. It is also Interesting to note that the text to Jean the Birdman is filed under Part 1 of the book, the Rain Tree Crow era. But when you think about this it makes perfect sense with the Crow related theme. Another interesting point to note is that Damage now carries the subtitle (bringing down the light). This is an essential purchase for any Sylvian fan and is sure to go the same way as Trophies I (Try finding a copy for under £100!!!)
