5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read for anyone interested in Canals of living in Bath!, 20 Aug 2009
Having used many of the routes of the Somersetshire Coal Canal for running and as part of the annual Bath Beat walking event, it was only since reading this excellent but dated book that I realised the full extent of this long since derelict canal. Even more so since I'm also the owner of a narrowboat on the Kennet and Avon canal.

A similar book by K.Clew is vastly more academic and almost entirely historical, but this book excellently explains the routes of the canal, the parts of it that can still be seen, and the features that can be identified. For an easilly accessible book thats readable, this cannot be beaten.
