Book Description
Besides being intrepid explorers, Brian and Eileen are botanists and keen cooks! They guide you through the most beautiful landscapes of the eastern Lycia, finding rare orchids and tasty recipes en route. When you first glimpse the towering, seemingly impenetrable chain of mountains which runs the length of the Lycian Peninsula, you might think that these are mountains for climbers and not for walkers. In that case you are in for a pleasant surprise, since this book describes almost 300km/200mi of prime walking amongst some of the finest scenery anywhere in the Mediterranean. But the book is not just for walkers. The car touring section will show you the very best of the area and take you to all the most beautiful and historically interesting sites. The picnic suggestions, too, give you an excellent introduction to the countryside, and make ideal short walks perfect for stretching your legs during a car tour, or often easily reached by mini-bus.
"It enhanced our trip. The maps, detailed information and colour photographs gave a new dimension to our holiday." (D.G.&M.W., Leeds)
