First Sentence
To understand how and why the X1/9 sportscar was created we must first examine the various development projects being undertaken at the time either by or on behalf of Fiat, and in particular the one which would lead to the family of cars with which the X1/9 would become most closely associated - the Fiat 128 range. Read the first page

4.0 out of 5 stars The life and death of a motoring legend, 27 Jan 2001
By A Customer
The FIAT/BERTONE X1/9 in all it's guises over it's thirty year history has provoked many and varied comments. Phil Ward's book goes back to the design roots of this vehicle. The book is well illustrated and written in a manner that only a true enthusiast could. For lovers of this car it is as essential as the workshop manual and waxoyl. The X1/9 provides a superb affordable entry into Italian classic sportscar owning experience and this book gives an insight into the genius of Nuccio Bertone.
