Product Description
Synopsis
This is the latest addition to the "Waterways Heritage Collection". The map offers an authoritative mapping of the waterways of the London area. It shows all the canal and river navigations, past and present, with opening dates (and closing dates where relevant), locks, bridges, acqueducts, toll offices, pumping stations, tunnels and reserviors. Three different types of waterway are identified, and naviagations which were authorized but never built are also shown. The map extends from Uxbridge and Hertford in the north to Croydon in the south, thus including the whole of the Lee Navigation, the Croydon Canal, the Dartford and Crayford Navigation, the Romford Canal, the Regents Canal, the River Roding, and the Thames from Wandsworth to Barking, and a number of other minor canals and navigations, including reference to the "Humes Canal".
