5.0 out of 5 stars A moving evocation of disappearing values and ways., 7 Feb 2002
Mr B has been graced with intelligence and insight which shine through his words. This book is permeated with his obvious love of the natural expressions of Islam, from the minutae of external detail to the core of its tremendous heart. Read this if the materialistic lifestyle so strongly promoted in these times leaves you unsatisfied and you can't understand why. This will provide the clue to your hunger, and God willing, some clear answers.

after visiting morocco i saw this book by itslef on a lonely shelf and i knew this book was the cure for the hole morocco left in my heart, well atleast for a while it would act as a substitute.. i read the first parargraph and felt like i was back in the maghrib, understanding everything thaT was written it was as though it was a commentry of my thoughts. He is a brilliant writer and manages to select the correct words all the time to capture the essence of morocco...A MUST READ FOR THE WANDERING HEARTS.... for you mon amour
