3.0 out of 5 stars The land and nature in harmony, 4 Aug 2001
By A Customer
"Listen to the trees" is many things an autobiography, a history book, and a nature book. It is an excellent read and gives a real sense of the passion of Don MacCaskill's love of his work, of Scotland, of nature in general, and of trees in particular. It is fascinating to read of his early life and his introduction to the natural world and to follow this through with his work with the Forestry service. A quite remarkable book, well written with some beautiful photographs. The world is surely a little less interesting, now that he has gone.

4.0 out of 5 stars talk to the trees, 24 Oct 2008

(REAL NAME)
a well written book about forest life especially pre war and post war years, before machanization.

The characters were realistically portrayed and the 'pictures' I got of the forests will remain with me for a while.

Well done Don.
