2.0 out of 5 stars A patchy browse with some decent pictures, 1 May 2001
By A Customer
This book is strangely unbalanced. Not in its opinions, as it is strictly a nostalgic look back at trams, trolleybuses and buses in Greater Manchester; but its coverage of what is necessarily a large subject area is very uneven and it seems that the personal preferences of the author have overcome any desire to give equal coverage to all parts of the rich matrix that was once the transport scene in Manchester. In time, too, the balance concentrates on some periods but not others. There are several views that this reviewer has not seen in other publications but the usefulness of this book as a starting point for this subject is limited.
