Jetting between New York, Los Angeles and English suburbia, Andi Watson skilfully captures the little idiosyncrasies that bring her locations to life. She proves equally adept with her characters too.

The story, that of an American women taking an internship on a remote parochial English newspaper, has a few enjoyable twists along the way, but never quite raises itself to the levels of surprise. Rather, it keeps itself safely within the territory of comfortable and predictable ChickLit fantasy. This isn’t necessarily a criticism though, and in fact the characterisations, wit and plot are strikingly reminiscent of a Marion Keyes novel. If those are your bowl of sushi then you’d most likely enjoy this too.
