5.0 out of 5 stars DUNCAN WILLIAMSON - A STORYTELLER FOR ALL SEASONS, 11 Nov 2007
By Highlander "highlander1715" (Inverness,Scotland) - See all my reviews
These stories contained in this book are for all tastes and ages whether four or ninetyfour and counting. They have an ageless appeal and immediacy and are far removed from the childrens nursery kind of stories where everything is so NICE you could almost but not quite forget what kind of world we live in these days.Duncan who sadly died on the eigth November 2007 has over the years told me some spine chilling stories which I also love to tell to audiences all over. Some of these stories tell the tales as told in this book of the seal people, those fishermen lost in the cruel sea who cannot find rest and wander as seal people. They are strange wondrous creatures that look just like the common grey seals that inhabit at times our Scottish shorelines.I have trouble telling them apart myself.
