5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Read!, 18 Feb 2006
By Max Wall (London, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book covers Lucas’ career starting from when he was in college in the late 60s up to release of Star Wars Episode III in 2005. It covers the birth of some of the big names in the film industry such as Pixar, Industrial Light and Magic and THX. Rubin goes into some fantastic details about the filmmaking process. All digital filmmakers/animators should read this book to gain appreciation of how the tools of the trade were developed.

This is an incredibly engrossing book. It took me 3 weeks to read it cover to cover on my daily commute to and work. I wish it had been available when I was studying computer graphics in the mid 90s.

Highly recommended!
