This is the best, by far, of the books I've read offering instruction in tapestry weaving.

It provides a detailed, fully comprehensive guide to all the tapestry techniques, including unusual ones such as soumak, each of which is illustrated with beautifully clear b/w close-up photos of the technique being executed. Each of the techniques is introduced in turn, with all its variations and their effect explained.

The techniques of tapestry are difficult to explain but the author's clear and straightforward style communicates each point fully and without fuss.

If you are looking for inspiration the book includes a large number of clear colour photos of some of the very best contemporary tapestries.

Unreservedly recommended to anyone, beginner or expert, interested in this beautiful craft.
