1.0 out of 5 stars This book was a complete disappointment!, 7 Aug 2002
By Manuel Luis Cochofel (Lisbon, Portugal) - See all my reviews
I was looking for an informative and well ilustrated book on Infrared Photography and choose it amongst others due to the critics above and due to the fact it was a little cheaper than the others. Wrong decision! This is a very dull book with dozens of photos alike, taken with the same camera and always with the same film. In each double page you get an average of 20% poorly informative text, 20% blank space and 60% of an often bad exposed photo (and not all of the infrared films are difficult to expose well, and especially not Konica Mr. Damiano!). The technical details on how to make landscape infrared photography are so few (and sometime erroneous) that a beginner would be left almost the same way in which he was before reading it, and the more advanced infrared photografer won't benefit a comma from it!

Probably the author's intention wasn't a technical but an Art book instead. If so, he should have left aside any slightest techical detail. If so, he should have not included text at all and included poetry, for instance..I am a Portuguese photographer (sorry about the English) who loves to make Infrared Photography.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must have photograghy resource. Brilliantly done!, 3 April 1999
By A Customer
Damiano has done an exceptional job in completely focusing in on the photography techniques at hand. Formal and complete descriptions make this a wonderful experience for any photographer.
