Thomas Tomosy is the author of several books in this series discussing camera repair. This one concentrates on restoration of collectible cameras from 1945 to 1970 and is sensibly divided into sections depending on the type of camera (eg SLR with film plane shutter cameras). The selection of cameras presented is representative of the period, and the author writes with authority and expertise. The author has also included a very useful appendix with some critical notes about camera repair techniques taken from other books of his. If you are a collector and are aspiring to start cleaning, lubricating and in general making your collection more valuable this book must be on your shelf. On the downside its pictures are in black and white and since its printed on matt paper the contrast is not great. Don't let this put you off a great, readable and pragmatic text.
