5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent info on Wildwood, New Jersey, 24 Mar 1999
By A Customer
The authors did an excellent job on this book; its one of the most detailed books I've seen on amusement parks and the pictures as is the writing is first rate. The pictures in the back give you an idea of what the modern Wildwood Boardwalk looks like. The front cover gives you an indication on its own on what its like to be at this awsome place. I bought this when I vacationing in Wildwood (the best man) and I couldnt put it down. A must for any Wildwood fan or Amusement park fan for that matter. Its nice to read about a great amusement destination like Wildwood and to know its still an awsome place and you can still visit it and expirience it for yourself. All in all, a great book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Informative history of a great childhood memory, 1 Oct 1998
By A Customer
I grew up in the 60's and 70's and spent some time every summer at Wildwood. Those were great times and the book brought back many fond memories. It also provided a lot of history I would not have otherwise known about. The pictures are great and plentiful but there is also a lot of text to enjoy. The book covers the history of Wildwood by the decades (each chapter dedicated to a decade or 2) and each chapter is further broken down by subject (i.e., land development, amusement pier development, vendors, beach, entertainment, etc.) I was a bit disappointed, however, that it did not cover the past 20 years as deeply as it covered the previous decades. If you're interested in NJ history, this book is a great read, a wonderful keepsake, and a classic coffee table book.
