Product Description

From the Author
A fun and easy way to learn SolidWorks
I have recently completed the second edition updates to my book Designing Parts with SolidWorks. I believe my book teaches the fastest and easiest way to learn SolidWorks. The generous use of graphics eliminates a lot of reading and makes it fun to learn solid modeling. The project-oriented approach will enable users to create many realistic part models quickly. This book was originally designed for industrial users of SolidWorks but has proven itself to be an effective teaching aid for educators as well. The book makes a great textbook for students as well as engineers and designers.

3.0 out of 5 stars A very useful guide that is aimed at new CAD users., 17 Dec 1999
By A Customer
SolidWorks has been the first CAD program that I have familiarised myself with. As an unexperienced CAD user the book prooved to be a very useful resource. It has given me a basic foundation from which I can further develop my skills. I think it would fit best into educational establishments where students are using CAD for the first time and verbal tution is limited.

1.0 out of 5 stars Designing parts is not all there is to it...., 4 Nov 1998
By A Customer
This book tells you how to design parts...that's true. Unfortunately it does exactly that and nothing else. The creation of assemblies, drawings and all the other stuff you need to know, will probably appear in another volume...Creating Assemblies with Solidworks??? The author seems to have been in a hurry to finish the book. Missing words and text hidden by pictures gives a sloppy impression. Having spoken to a skilled SolidWorks designer I realized that the author has missed a lot of the great features and tools built into the software. The contents of this book is below the "for dummies" level, but with a "Mastering XXXXCAD" price tag. I really regret having paid good money for this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars An easy to use fun way to learn one of the best modelling sy, 15 Dec 2000
By A Customer
I found this book very easy to follow, even with the limited knowledge i had and in a very short time i was creating my own 3d models by applying the concepts that i had learned. Solid works is a very good parametric modelling program and this book makes it within anybody's reach to become proficient at it.It also touches on some other modelling concepts such as stereolithigraphy which i found very interesting, all in all a very good book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skip this book and buy Inside Solidworks
This book provided very little useful information to enhance use of Solidworks. Inside Solidworks provided much more useful information.
