5.0 out of 5 stars Don't let the title put you off!, 23 Mar 2004
By Maureen Cooksley (London england) - See all my reviews
Don't let the title of this book put you off. Just look at the cover and this shows what goodies can be achieved. This book hits the spot for beginners and skilled weavers alike. It is informative without being condescending and presents the subject in such a way that you can't wait to get started. The author brings within everybody's reach the magical world of 'Tapestry' and once you've read through, you are then free to go off on your own magic carpet ride. Thoroughly recommended for enjoyment and instruction with clear and interesting photography.

5.0 out of 5 stars What is Tapestry?, 15 Feb 2009
By bernie "xyzzy" (Arlington, Texas) - See all my reviews
(TOP 50 REVIEWER)
Tapestry is a handweaving technique that can be done on the simplest of looms. In fact you can begin with only a frame to hold the warp (the lengthwise threads) taut while you weave the weft (the crosswise threads). "

This book is written like a text book with simple explanation and projects that bet more complex towards the end. The illustrations are black and white hand drawings interspaced with monochrome and color stills.

I do not want to leave you with the impression that this is just a simple beginners' book as it has depth on the subject.
