"Finally, we have a book that deals exclusively with issues of ADD in the teenage years. I highly recommend it."

Product Description

This book discusses typical troubling behaviours, provides perspectives for parents of diagnosed teens, and assists other parents in determining whether ADD is affecting their child. 5.0 out of 5 stars A life saver ; you helped me to love my son with ADD., 20 May 1999
By A Customer
Having a 15 year old son only diagnosed with ADD at age 14 has been a nightmare. Every thing I read about ADD referred to the preteen child. This book helped me to love and understand my son even when he was at his least loveable. With a lot of love and a little Ritalin and Effexor I have the son I only dreamed about last year. Thank you Chris Ziegler from the bottom of my heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best resource I have seen for parenting teens with ADD., 6 Feb 1999
By A Customer
I borrowed this book from the library. I am now purchasing it. It will be an invaluable resource from Jr High through college. I used it to draw up a detailed 504 Accommodation Plan for my son's school. The school agreed to all my requests. This book empowered me in my dealings with the school. Without this book, my son would have had to settle for a school devised plan that was totally inadequate. Every parent of a teen with ADD needs this book in their home library.

5.0 out of 5 stars COMPREHENSIVE. A MUST READ IF YOUR CHILD HAS ADD, 26 May 1999
By A Customer
OUR SON IS IN 8TH GRADE, AND WE DIAGNOSED HIS ADD BEFORE HE STARTED SCHOOL. HE DOES NOT TAKE ANY MEDICATION AND IS IN TOP 1% IN INTELLIGENCE. HE DRIVES US CRAZY, HOWEVER, IN TRYING TO GET HIM TO DO HIS HOMEWORK RATHER THAN PLAY VIDEO GAMES OR MAGIC CARDS. THIS BOOK TOLD US THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT GREATLY IMPROVE UNTIL SOMETIME IN HIGH SCHOOL. THIS ALLOWED US TO TAKE A DEEP BREATH AND STOP PUTTING SO MUCH PRESSURE ON OUR SON TO CHANGE NOW. IT TOOK A LOT OF PRESSURE OFF US, TOO. THE BOOK INCLUDES A GREAT DISCUSSION OF THE PROS AND CONS OF VARIOUS MEDICATIONS. I LIKED THE SUGGESTION OF SENDING TEACHERS A SUMMARY REGARDING THE ADD STUDENT - SUGGESTED SUMMARY IS PROVIDED. JUST GET THIS BOOK. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.
