5.0 out of 5 stars Lama Ole Nydahl's wisdom shines., 12 Mar 1999
By A Customer
In simple words, Lama Ole Nydahl shares his knowledge, gained as one of the first Western disciples, who for over 30 years studied Buddha's teachings from the highest Lamas of Tibet. This is truly a workbook for a living transmission of Buddha's deep wisdom, given by a Western Buddhist Master. Also through the four meditations included, the reader is experiencing the liberating and powerful methods of Tibetan Buddhism. I am immensely grateful for having found this book. After reading it, my whole point of view of "my" Universe was transformed to a higher level of understanding. I consider it as a key to the rest of my life and highly recommend the book.

Great work by Great Master

5.0 out of 5 stars complexity of Buddha's teaching in understandable language, 12 Jun 2005
By A Customer
The variety of Buddha's teachings is sometimes overwhelming and this is one of only a few introductory texts that give a good overview of the different approaches within Buddhism.
The author shows that it is possible to translate ancient wisdom into modern language and who ever studied core Tibetan Buddhist texts in detail will realise that this is an exceptional text, bringing this wisdom to our doorsteps.
Excellent - and I can only recommend it to anybody interested in Buddhist wisdom expressed in modern language.

A great book for those new to Buddhism and those wishing to deepen their understanding of the Buddha Dharma. Worth reading many times over.
