I read a lot of books about oil painting, but this one by the late Helen van Wijck is one of the best books. She was a great painter and a great teacher. She uses a limited palette and explains all the properties of these colours. How to mix and how to get harmony in your painting. If you paint along with the author, you can learn the most... It's not a book for reading but a book for action, just paint along with the author and try to put those words into a great painting.
