3.0 out of 5 stars Great source of info BUT ...., 22 May 2001
By A Customer
This book is a great source of info for everyone who is interested in the history of John Merrick, the Elephant Man, BUT it is way too repetitive. Montagu keeps repeating the same facts over and over again which makes the book quite boring. It's worth reading, not worth buying.

Don't think you'll like the book if you liked the film. It's an in depth character study and lacks any feeling, allthough I seriously doubt Montagu didn't feel for the Elephant Man
