I know that the best way to take onboard how powerful NLP can be is to see it (and hear, and feel, and taste, and smell it!) in action, and this is an opportunity to do just that.
If you like to be amazed and dazzled by the superhuman communication skills of Mr. Bandler then buy this book, read it and say 'wow' to yourself a lot.
But if you are more interested in learning how to actually do it, you'd be better off taking a Master or Practitioner NLP course, or quickly turn to the back of the book where the appendix attempts to explain what was actually going on. At this point you do really say 'wow', as you get a chance to unpack the logic behind what was said, and how the Milton Model of communication (modelled from Milton Erikson) can be used to accomplish quite amazing things. Which is a little scary, because if all of Bandler's communication was really this purposeful he'd scare the willies out of anyone he met! (And who's to say that this is not his intention, some of the time!)
One of the downsides of the wealth of information contained in the Appendix and Milton Model is the 'curse' of Neurolinguistic Programming; that of the ultimate model of communication which uses the most complicated words to describe it's processes (Generalised Referential Index, for example!). It takes a long hard look at a dictionary and some applied thinking to truly understand and start generating your own versions of the techniques used here, but then I suspect that the purpose of this publication is not to enlighten but to impress.
