Product Description
Synopsis
This is not a seniors' guide to the latest bands on MTV or the hottest sites on the Internet. This book shows you how to engage children with fun, inexpensive projects that can teach valuable lessons. Each project is clearly described and illustrated, and most can be done with a pocket knife and common household items. This delightful compendium of things all grandfathers should know how to make or do is an essential reference for every old fogey who would rather be 'really cool'!

5.0 out of 5 stars "violent behavior"?!? -- puh-leeze!, 25 Dec 1998
By A Customer
Kids are going to make slingshots and arrows on their own, no matter what the PC, New Age types out there think. Better to have Granddad there to supervise and make sure they understand the danger, however slight. This is a neat, useful book -- wish my grandfather had had a copy.

1.0 out of 5 stars This book promotes violent behavior., 4 Dec 1998
By A Customer
We returned this book after being shocked to see that it's pages were filled with questionable crafts most of which promoted the aggressive and even violent behavior that a really cool grandfather would certainly not want to model. Teaching a grandchild to create for example sling shots, arrows, and other weapons make one a dangerous grandfather not a 'cool' one.

Terrific book, filled with simple, practical toys that kids can make (with a little help from grandpa). A perfect book for rainy weekends!
