One of the most comprehensive books on homeschooling, 27 Aug 2002
By A Customer
Creative Home Schooling for Gifted Children is definitely worth every penny. It is one of the most comprehensive books on home education that I've ever read. It walks you through identifying your child as gifted, helps you to understand what learning style your child is and how you can tailor your approach to your child's learning style and it gives different examples of home school approaches from classical to unschooling. In each approach the author stresses the importance of self directed learning and shows how each approach (no matter how structured) can be self directed. It is full of suggestions for amazing books, curriculum, and tons of links. There are also examples taken from different homeschooling families that show their approach, the materials they use, and how they've adapted them to suit their children's needs. This definitely isn't only for gifted children, I think that any child who is homeschooled would benefit from the suggestions made in this book and the resource lists are full of such creative books! I will be referring to this book again and again.
