5.0 out of 5 stars Essential, Concise and well produced guide, 20 Aug 2001
By A Customer
The book seemed thin and small for the price; its folded OS Map size, but in booklet form with thin pages. However, the material is well focussed to the needs of the canal boater or walker, and has outstanding schematic charts which highlight the key points to look out for, and is updated regularly. Essentials such as water points, local shops, pubs are clearly marked. The canal area is split into sections each with their own 2-3 pages. This guide also covered spurs such as the Ashby canal and Coventry city. We found this much more use than OS maps on their own. Its essential to have such a guide when hiring or borrowing a canal boat in a new area (these don't come with some hire boats), and I thought this guide had less clutter than similar ones which had partial OS map details of the overall areas. Defintely worth the money.
