5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent book to carry with your real passport., 10 April 2001
By Nigel Bedrock (Houston, USA) - See all my reviews
This invaluable book goes with me whenever I go abroad. Indeed it's useful in the UK when the waiter at the local restaurant doesn't grasp the difference between vegan and vegetarian requirements. I have successfully negotiated vegan meals in France, the Middle East, Holland and Turkey with this book with few problems. I have yet to ask anyone for a meal using the Esperanto page- but perhaps one day I will. The pages are ideal for faxing to hotels before you go, too. The one minor criticism is that it can take a minute or so for a waiter to read the text, which they can be reluctant to do. But it's a good book for any vegan with itchy feet.
