5.0 out of 5 stars Wind Strategy - an excellant read, 17 Mar 2006
By Catherine (London, England United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Wind Strategy (Paperback)
This book - complete with colour diagrams is the best book on wind strategy I have read. I particularly like the sections at the end that give practical examples of wind strategy in locations around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wind Strategy, 8 Mar 2006
This review is from: Wind Strategy (Paperback)
A fantastic book, written in plain English with easy to understand concepts for novices through to Olympic sailors. Detail builds throughout the book and many meteorological concepts are visited, with the best sea breeze explanation I have ever read. The new edition of colour diagrams and venues make it a must for any sailor looking to improve their performance on the water.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to short range wind prediction for sailing, 17 May 2001
By A Customer
This is a really good, clean concise guide to wind behaviour and prediction in coastal areas over short time frames, i.e. the typical conditions under which sailing races are held. It contains the only accurate description of how the sea breeze forms and behaves that I've ever read. Worth buying and reading for that alone. Lots of other good stuff in there too, e.g. katabatic and anabatic winds, wind behaviour on lakes, etc. Will improve your racing much more than buying a new headsail.
