5.0 out of 5 stars Best inspirational walks book, 9 Nov 2006
By Dr. Nicholas P. G. Davies (Halifax, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book started a series of great coffee table walking books. (Big, classic and wild walks) They got the order wrong (eg the Rhinogs get into big walks rather than wild walks)but this book is excellent.

This particular book, and the series, provided great inspiration to many walkers when they appeared. The mountains haven't changed so the routes identified are still as valid and challenging as ever.

Read this book and you will want to get out into the hills immediately.

The whole series could well be revamped to 2006 standards and reissued.

An inspirational book which will get you heading up the A9 at every opportunity. Superb photography, lively prose and some really arduous routes.
