5.0 out of 5 stars definitive winter climbing coffee table book, 20 Feb 2002
By A Customer
The classic picture book for anyone with an interest in winter climbing in britain. Although climbing standards have risen, the writing and photos in this book are as inspiring as ever. As a tick list or as a way of recalling great days out this book has not been beaten. A must for all aspiring hardmen and novices alike!

4.0 out of 5 stars a good read but a potentially dangerous read, 17 Dec 2004
By A Customer
Cold climbs reviews snow and ice climbs in Britain but be
warned if it stimulates you to buy a couple of ice-axes and
a rope - winter climbing is far,far more dangerous than
rock-climbing in the summer.Get some expert tuition at a climbing club or at a dedicated training centre.
It takes years to learn how to climb in winter -
it is never safe to do so, no matter how experienced you are.
And you need to be very fit indeed.
