5.0 out of 5 stars amazing book about a small town in Fife, 20 Oct 2002
As a Cowdenbeath supporter, i got this book from my Gran as a christmas present, and although I'm not a usual book reader, I gave this book a go.

I love this book and is clearly my favourite book, as a football fan my second favourite is 'Fever Pitch', so you get the idea about how good this really is.

After taking an interest in club football at the age of 10 in 1996, I started supporting my local Cowdenbeath, and this is a perfect book to bring me up to speed with how the football side have faired since they were formed in 1881.
Such amazing stories about how the side were formed, the 1949 League Cup defeat of Rangers at Ibrox-beofre going out in the second leg, and the promtion chase to the First Division in the early 90's that came to the final day with a game at Alloa Athletic.....

Excellent book for all football fans about how a club has grown from the roots of a coal-mining town throughout its now 122 year history, especially for Cowdenbeath fans-although i can see that theyll be many of them on here.

5.0 out of 5 stars A true story of footballing memories for a small Fife team, 29 Oct 2001
By A Customer
Supporting a lower league team the likes of Cowdenbeath is sometimes a love-lorn chore. A club which found its' roots in the Fife coal-mining community never reached the almighty highs that are possible in Scottish football.

Ron Ferguson encapsulates the feeling of what is was like to follow the "Blue Brazil" for a season, drifting back to days when he used to visit the hallowed terraces of Central Park to cheer on his heroes.

This is a book for football/soccer fans the world over - a great read at a very reasonable price.
